Adam Wardzinski vs Erberth Santos

A few things you want to know about Adam Wardzinski:  He is from Poland, which has a massive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu presence;  He has one of the best butterfly guards amongst active competitors; and he competes, a lot.  Adam has participated in just about every promotion:  IBJJF, UAEJJF, Copa Podio and ACB.   He is just as comfortable without the Gi and he is in it as he just won the European Qualifier for the -88 kg division for 2019 ADCC.    If you want a person to study the guard, Adam is a good choice.

Erberth Santos is a monster on the mats, when he is on.  His game is relentless, powerful, and violent when he is locked in.  When he is not on, he can crash and burn very quickly.  He too has competed a lot – IBJJF, UAEJJ, Copa Podio and has a number of championships to his name.   He competes primarily in the Gi so that he can deploy his violent drop seoi nagi throw.

This MFM showcases the calm, weathering of the storm by the quiet polish grappler and the quick dominance, then crash by the Brazilian.

A note about the ACB format.  Each match is three 5 minute rounds with a minute rest in between to simulate a MMA fight.  The match can end at anytime via submission, but if you win the round via points, they they score it 10-9 or 10-8 round.  At the end of 3 rounds (5 for titles) they tally that score instead of the points accumulated through technique.  I know, weird.  But, ACB is a Russian promotion and may now be defunct due to financial irregularities.
